Residents of Katsina-Ala and surrounding communities now have access to improved healthcare services following the commissioning of a new 200-bed general hospital. The facility, which was constructed with support from the federal government and international health organisations, is equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by qualified healthcare professionals.

The hospital features an emergency unit, surgical theatre, maternity ward, pharmacy, and diagnostic laboratory. It also has accommodation for resident doctors and nurses, addressing one of the major challenges of attracting medical personnel to work in rural areas.

The Commissioner for Health described the hospital as a game-changer for healthcare delivery in the northern part of Benue State. He noted that the facility would serve as a referral centre for primary healthcare facilities across Katsina-Ala, Ukum, and Logo local government areas, significantly reducing the need for patients to travel to Makurdi for medical treatment.
