Benue State University, Makurdi, has taken a significant step towards technological advancement with the launch of a new innovation hub on its campus. The facility, equipped with modern computing equipment, 3D printers, and collaborative workspaces, is designed to serve as an incubator for student-led technology startups and research projects.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the hub represents the university's commitment to producing graduates who are not just academically qualified but also equipped with practical skills and entrepreneurial mindsets. He revealed that the hub was established in partnership with several technology companies and development organisations.
Students from the Faculties of Science, Engineering, and Social Sciences have already begun using the facility for various projects, including the development of mobile applications for agricultural extension services and an online platform for connecting Benue artisans with customers across Nigeria.
