The annual Tiv Cultural Festival, one of the most anticipated cultural events in Benue State, has drawn thousands of participants and tourists to Gboko. The festival, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Tiv people, features traditional music, dance, art exhibitions, and culinary displays.
This year's edition was themed around youth involvement in cultural preservation, with a special focus on passing traditional knowledge and skills to the younger generation. Performances by renowned Tiv musicians and dance troupes kept spectators entertained throughout the three-day event.
Traditional rulers from across Tiv land used the occasion to call for greater unity among the Tiv people and to advocate for the preservation of the Tiv language and cultural practices. The state government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, provided logistical and financial support for the festival.
